Question -- Why is it that my most recent statement is not showing my last payment?

Question -- What if my payment was not received?
Answer -- If we did not receive your payment, then your next step would be to verify that the check or money order was cashed. If it was not, then you should inform us of the check/money order number and reissue the payment. If your check/money order was cashed, then your next step would be to give us a copy of the front and back of the cancelled check/money order so that we may properly research your payment or account.

Question -- Why is this on my credit file?
Answer -- Most unpaid debts owed to Department of Revenue Recovery-County of Sacramento are reported to TransUnion only. These unpaid items can remain on your report for seven (7) years. Once the item is paid, it will be cancelled with TransUnion.

Also, if Department of Revenue Recovery has requested and received judgment against you, it becomes a public record item. Public record items are picked up at the Recorder's Office by the different credit reporting agencies. These items can also remain on your credit file for seven (7) years. DRR does not put them on your report; therefore, DRR cannot take them off. Once they are paid and a satisfaction is provided, (which you must pay a fee and have recorded) it will be shown on your credit report as a satisfied judgment.

Question -- Why are you intercepting my tax refund?
Answer -- Your account is or was delinquent at sometime. Revenue Recovery participates annually in the State and Federal Tax Refund Intercept Programs. Welfare overpayments, court ordered fines, restitution, probation costs and attorney fees are just a few of the types of eligible accounts that are subject to tax intercept.

To protect against having your tax refund intercepted, it is important to pay your account in full or keep your account current before DRR sends an intercept request to the State.
